Pury Erskine Ltd receives award for outstanding support towards the Armed Forces Community

Pury Erskine Ltd has received the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence for their outstanding support towards the Armed Forces Community. We are delighted to have received such a prestigious award at the first time of asking.

The Employer Recognition Scheme Awards recognise organisations who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces Community through implementing practical policies in the workplace. This includes commitments such as paid time off for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, and ensuring HR policies are inclusive of Veterans and military spouses.

Pury Erskine Ltd is a niche law company specialising in serious and complex crime, military and regulatory law, with a nationwide client base. The company is a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, a voluntary pledge that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated fairly and should not face disadvantages when seeking to access public or private goods and services in the UK.

‘Pury Erskine Ltd is committed to supporting our Armed Forces and the wider Armed Forces Community as well as those who volunteer their time to help our young people. We recognise the value serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and service families contribute to our country.’

A record 24 organisations in the East Midlands received the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for their outstanding support towards the Armed Forces community.

Kirstie Lawrence, the Ministry of Defence’s Deputy Regional Employer Engagement Director for the East Midlands, said: “We are delighted that so many local businesses have been recognised with this Silver Award. Despite the pressures of the last few years, these companies have taken the time to ensure our Armed Forces community is supported.

It is gratifying to see that, whatever the size of the business, there is a place for the Armed Forces Covenant, and they recognise the benefits of working with Defence. They should be really proud of this significant achievement.”

The Scheme has three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. To achieve Silver, organisations much proactively demonstrate that the Armed Forces Community are not unfairly disadvantaged as part of their recruitment policies. They must also actively ensure their workforce is aware of their positive policies towards Defence people issues. 2022 marks the ninth year of the Awards scheme.
