Court Martial Acquittal

Pury Erskine Ltd secured the acquittal in the Court Martial of their client who was involved in covert liaison work as part of recent operations in Afghanistan and faced charges of negligent performance of duty in relation to defence funds. Following submissions and disclosure applications from Matthew Bolt of Cornwall Street Barrister’s Military Law Team, the Crown accepted there was no realistic prospect of conviction in relation to either client and formally offered no evidence on the eve of trial. This was a complicated case involving applications for disclosure of secret material central to their client’s defence. Our client will now continue to serve in HM Forces.
